The WIPO ASEAN IP Valuation Project

The ASEAN region committed to develop harmonized intellectual property right (IPR) management practices, including in the area of IP valuation, as stated in the deliverable 17.2 of the ASEAN IPR Action Plan 2016-2025: “Conduct a study on the best practices for IP valuation, including on the IP and non-IP legal and policy frameworks that help increase the recognition of the value of IP as a financial asset in the business community “. Thus, the WIPO ASEAN IP Valuation Project was launched in 2023, which saw a collaboration between WIPO, the ASEAN Secretariat (ASEC), national IP Offices, support from the Japan Patent Office, and involvement of regional and international experts.
The ASEAN IP Academy organises training program on IP & GRTKTCE

The ASEAN IP Academy, in collaboration with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and supported by the IP Academy of the IP Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL), is launching its second training program on the topic of “IP and GRTKTCE”.
Further Two-Years Extension of ASPEC AIM Pilot Programme till 26 August 2025

To allow applicants to continue to leverage on ASPEC AIM to fast track their Industry 4.0 inventions in the ASEAN region, the ASPEC AIM Pilot Programme will be extended for an additional 2 years till 26 August 2025. Applicants will continue to benefit from a committed turnaround time of 6 months to receive the first office action. A cap of 50 applications per year remains.

WIPO-IPOPHL Summer School on Intellectual Property in Emerging Economies

The Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL), through its IP Academy, in partnership with the World Intellectual Property Office (WIPO), will commence the 4th run of the WIPO-IPOPHL Summer School. This is the only WIPO Summer School in the Southeast Asian Region.
WIPO-Singapore ASEAN Mediation Programme (AMP)

Disputing parties in ASEAN can resolve their IP or technology disputes, or come to an agreement on outstanding terms in deals under negotiation, through the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) Center with funding under the WIPO-Singapore Government Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the year 2023.
