ASEAN Intellectual Property Experts Directory

ASEAN has made available the ASEAN Intellectual Property Experts Directory, a regional reference tool that consolidates a pool of intellectual property experts from all ASEAN Member States. The Directory covers a broad range of IP fields, including trademarks, patents, industrial designs, copyright and related rights, geographical indications (GIs), IP enforcement, dispute resolution, IP valuation, technology transfer, and emerging IP issues.

1st ASEAN TISC Network Meeting

The ASEAN TISC (Technology and Innovation Support Center) Network, a sub-working group of the ASEAN Working Group on Intellectual Property Cooperation (AWGIPC) held its Inaugural Meeting on 28 February 2025, presided by the Philippines which was designated as Chair at the AWGIPC’s 74th Meeting held in Luang Prabang, Lao PDR last December 2024.

The WIPO ASEAN IP Valuation Project

The ASEAN region committed to develop harmonized intellectual property right (IPR) management practices, including in the area of IP valuation, as stated in the deliverable 17.2 of the ASEAN IPR Action Plan 2016-2025: “Conduct a study on the best practices for IP valuation, including on the IP and non-IP legal and policy frameworks that help increase the recognition of the value of IP as a financial asset in the business community “. Thus, the WIPO ASEAN IP Valuation Project was launched in 2023, which saw a collaboration between WIPO, the ASEAN Secretariat (ASEC), national IP Offices, support from the Japan Patent Office, and involvement of regional and international experts.
